Here's something you might find interesting. At this time last year, when Randy was still on hiatus from the band, we were doing "Wayfaring Stranger" as an instrumental, with solos by Doug Chaffin, Paul Martin and Veezy Coffman. Then about a month later, after the horrible ice storm that devastated so many neighborhoods in our area, we used that audio as the soundtrack for a little YouTube video we made to show the damage on Miller Road here in Huntington. The melancholy melody seemed to fit the scene well.
Well, in light of THIS MORNING's ice storm, I'm hoping we're not tempting fate by sharing this, but, okay, here goes, from March 2021:
The Flood does a great version of this old classic. The vocal has a great combination of yearning and weariness, and the musicians are outstanding.
