The wonderful thing is that young Vanessa had never heard "Dink's Song" before, but the very first time she heard us doing it at a rehearsal, she not only picked up on the similarities but also immediately started crafting her contribution. I'd say that's a pretty interesting example of what Pete Seeger's dad called "the folk process." :)
