So many folks that were permanent fixtures at the Fraley festival, are now missing.
It is important to carry on their memories, and there is a new crop of kids coming up. So thrilling to see that old time music in Eastern Kentucky is carrying on at the Fraley Festival.
So true! We got to visit with so many old friends on Friday night at Fraley's. It's wonderful just thinking about how "the new crop" is carrying on the tradition and the spirit of the tradition.
In the Floodisphere, that stage is especially important. Our first out-of-town gig was played there in 1974, two years before the Fraley Festival began (when it was still Nancy and Barbara's "Mountain Heritage Folk Festival." :)
