What a nice tune to enjoy with my morning coffee! We’ve enjoyed listening to the Flood over the years and watching it evolve as members came and went. As you noted, Randy’s harmony was great, as were Sam and Dan’s solos. I’m awake now! Thanks!
Oh, man, thank you so much for that kind message! Yes, our takes on some of these tunes go all the way back to our hippy-dippy youth in the '60 and '70s. And this particular song has had a number of incarnations here in Floodlandia. We even did a studio version of it for our CD back in 2013. Here's that track, if you're interested. My favorite part of the cut is Dave Peyton's classic kazoo solo at the end! :) Sure miss Dave.
Tasty, classic tune with a great vocal performance on top of the Flood’s always-enjoyable playing. As an aficionado of roots and Americana music, I always enjoy these well put together history lessons and performances. Great photos too!
Aw, Michael, I really appreciate your comment, buddy! And it occurs to me that we've been playing this kind of roots music for more than 45 years now. In fact, we've even got some old reels of tapes of our earliest efforts. If you're interested, here's an entry from our online scrapbook about our first stab at hokum tunes. :)
I am really enjoying these newsletters. They are not just informative, but well written and the photos are great. The behind the scenes stories and history make me feel like I know the group better and just heightens my appreciation for the music!
Wow, what a nice thing to say -- thank you, Tyson. We're having a ball putting this thing together. It lets us look at The Flood's long history in new ways.
Oh, and by the way, in case you missed it, a couple of the earlier newsletter entries focused on our recently playing at Heritage Station, including a few videos and an audio. Enjoy!

What a happy, jaunty tune. Everyone is obviously having a great time, punctuated by the chuckle at the end.
Aw, thank you, Mollie! We usually introduce the tune with something like this:
