Hi Charles, thanks for another lovely post and a great version of one of my earliest favourite folk (style) songs. I didnt' know any of those facts about the song and now I do the song takes on a whole new meaning.

And the fact that this was Ian's very first original song? Wow.

Chaging the subject a little...I know you use Photoshop and create some great images and videos so I thought you might find some use for a great, free video editor that I came across and have been using...capcut.com

Let me take the opportunity to wish you, your family and the Flood a very happy new year and I hope we all have a happy and healthy 2023. Colin

Happy new year, dear friend. May 2023 bring you joy, health and hours of memories and great music!

Thanks for the tip about capcut.com -- I look forward to checking out. I can use all the help on video editing (and many other things!) that I can get.

About the article, honestly, before Ian died, I knew only some basic facts about "Four Strong Winds." Most of the details I could put in the article I learned in just the past 48 hours or so from online research. I think one of the many things that is special about it is that so many of us think of the song as a personal favorite that not that many other people know about; well, it turns out the whole world knows about it! It makes me smile to think of Ian Tyson realizing he had touched so many lives.
