Colin -- I am SO envious! I would love to have a chance to catch Jim in concert. I've been a fan for more than half a century now.

And I'm glad you enjoyed the background on the tune! I was amazed to learn what a broad range of songs Jack Yellen wrote. In the earliest days of Floodery, we used to do "Are You from Dixie?" (a la Patrick Sky), and we had no idea it was written by the same guy who wrote "Happy Days Are Here Again" and "Alabama Jubilee"!

Thanks for the background info for the song Charles. I'd heard it over the years on ukulele. I guess it was a staple of uke players.

You mention the the Jim Kweskin Jug Band played it. I was lucky enough to have Jim Kweskin come and play at the Grateful Fred House Concert series here at the house in November 2017. One of the highlights for me of the series. It was a solo performance but he held the audience no problem. A great, fun night.
