Oh, I did too! One of my favorites was one of the first ones we taught us, "Star of the County Down." We started playing that one together back in the 1970s. Here's a beautiful Joe-Doug duet on the tune from 2014:

A sad an beautiful tune.

Isn't it, though? I've always how new tunes sometimes just spring up at a jam session and work their way into arrangements. BTW, here's a podcast that records just such a night, the first time that Joe and Doug played the song together. :)

Hi Charles, thanks for the latest newsletter and Joe's great fiddling. I love the "Flood Radio'. A great treat especially at this moment in time withe the "great unpleasantness" still lingering on a bit. Take care. Best wishes to you and all "The Flood" for the new year. Let's hope 2022 sees the world get back to a bit more normality. Keep up the great work. Colin

Ah, Colin, thank you so much for those kind words and good wishes! We hope everyone in the Liverpool branch of our extended Family Flood has a good, safe new year. Let's all keep playing the music, holding a good thought and shooting for normality. Uh, "normal" has never been something that comes easy to us in The Flood, but, hey, we're always up for a challenge! :)
