Hi Charles and "The Floodsters"...Ada must now be 18 (unless I've read it incorrectly), and I wondered if she's still playing the guitar?
Happy 4th of July too.
By the way, we've got some musicians headlining tomorrow evening at Grateful Freds that I know you and the guys would love. Max & Veonica, who come from Italy but who you would swear actually hailed from the deep south of the USA. Their music would be right up your street I'm certain. Guitar, ukulele, washboard and kazoo...
Aw, Colin, as always, thanks for the kind word, dear friend! No, alas, we’ve not seen Ada for some time, so I don’t know if she continued with her music. We have such fond memories of those days (we do have to regularly caution ourselves by remembering that the rap they got Socrates on was corrupting the youth….)
Sure wish we could be on hand for Max & Veonica; they sound wonderful! I love how that music of the American South takes root all around the world. We have some great friends from Australia — Rod & Judy Jones — whom we first met nearly 50 years ago. When they talk, it’s Crocodile Dundee, but when they sing, it’s all Gid Tanner and Molly O’Day. Here’s a video tribute we did about them a couple of years ago:
