The Year's First Flood Video
#557 / Video Extra
The band’s first video of the year, which Pamela Bowen captured at this week’s rehearsal Thursday night, features a classic old-time rock tune that is planned for a spot on The Flood’s next album when it comes out later this year:
As reported here earlier, “(When She Wants Good Lovin’) My Baby Comes to Me” is a Jerry Leiber-Mike Stoller composition that The Coasters released in the Summer of ’57.
It was only a minor hit for The Coasters (who had already scored with “Down in Mexico,” “Searching’” and “Young Blood” and had “Yakety Yak,” “ Charlie Brown” and “Poison Ivy” in their sights.)
But the song has a warm space in folkies’ hearts because Tom Rush included on his self-titled debut Elektra album in 1965, with John Sebastian on harmonica and Bill Lee in bass.
