So it’s like this: When your name is “The 1937 Flood,” you are obliged to take note of other deluges, especially those that visit your own neighborhood.
And the inundation couldn’t get much closer than today’s flash flood here in Huntington that turned our peaceful little Four Pole Creek into an angry torrent. The flooding brought the water to within less than a half block of the room in which we rehearse each week.
Here are some pictures and videos from The 2022 Four Pole Flood, set to a bit of our take on Bob Dylan’s classic “Down in the Flood.” Enjoy, and if you’re one of our neighbors on cleanup duty this afternoon, we hope the music raises your spirits a little.
We’d like to hang around, but, well, we gotta head back down to the basement to continue our own mopping up.
Marvelous meld of visual and audio. A “Flood” and flood memory.
