Read about Veezy in The Herald-Dispatch!
#24 / Then check out her New Year's Eve gig in downtown Huntington
We were thrilled to open this morning’s Herald-Dispatch and see a great feature by Derek Halsey about jazz saxophonist Veezy Coffman, pegged to the solo jazz job that she will be playing New Year’s Eve at the New Jockey Club at 938 4th Ave. in downtown Huntington.
Now, because we have a vested interest in local journalism, we’d love it if you’d run out and buy your own copy of the paper — Derek’s piece starts on A10 in the first section — but if that isn’t possible, click here for a .pdf of the story that you can read on your screen right now.
And of course, if you’re free tomorrow night, swing by Veezy’s show at the Jockey Club. Her first set starts at 10 p.m.
Of course, here in The Flood we’ve been delighted that Veezy has been our band mate for more than a year now. If you’d like to catch up on some of the recent podcasts that have featured her remarkable solos, visit the Veezy Channel of our free Radio Floodango music streaming service. Check here to tune it.
Well, I guess that technically you're right to call this her "solo" gig, but I thought it was interesting that the story says that Veezy's dad, Gary, ALSO will be playing some too.
