What a great story that our friend Lee Ward has written in Ashland’s Daily Independent about our newest web feature!
“The string band The 1937 Flood has a gift for you,” Lee writes, “but it’s not under the tree. It’s a new free streaming music service called Radio Floodango.” Hosted by the band’s website (1937flood.com), the feature, Lee notes, lets visitors listen to a continuous, randomly generated playlist of Flood tunes, selected from more than 600 files released in podcasts over the past dozen years or so.
Lee, who is the newspaper’s Lifestyles editor, also used the opportunity to take a look back at The Flood’s near-half-century history, starting with David Peyton and Charlie Bowen’s jam session at a New Year’s party in 1973 and bringing it up to today’s quintet format.
